Less money spent on energy bills means more to spend on things you enjoy. The Towers at Mercer Crossing has earned the ENERGY STAR® rating, bringing you enhanced comfort and value while helping to preserve our environment. To earn ENERGY STAR certification, a home must meet strict guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As an ENERGY STAR home, your residence uses about 38% less energy than typical new homes, and the savings are even greater when compared to older homes. Here are a few of the features you can expect to enjoy:

Wall-to-Wall Comfort

You will see, feel and hear the difference of a heating and cooling system that has been engineered and installed to efficiently deliver comfort. Enjoy consistent temperatures across every room and a constant supply of fresh, filtered air, reducing indoor pollutants, dust, pollen and other allergens.

Effective Insulation

As much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. By preventing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, a properly installed insulation barrier reduces utility bills year-round while adding enhanced comfort to you.

High-Performance Windows

ENERGY STAR certified windows help keep homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer, reducing the burden on your air conditioning and heating system while lowering emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants. They also protect your valuable furnishings and finishes from sun damage, and help to lower your energy costs.

Efficient Duct Systems

In a typical home, about 20% of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poor connections. That’s why the duct systems found in ENERGY STAR certified homes are third-party tested for tightness and verified to be properly insulated. Also, all our ducts are R-8 insulated compared to industry standard R-6. This helps you save even more money

High-Efficiency Heating & Cooling Equipment

ENERGY STAR certified central air conditioners have a higher “Seasonal Energy Efficient Ratio” (SEER Rating) than standard models. The higher the SEER, the greater the efficiency. Your home has a high-efficiency 16 SEER air conditioning system, which is about 8% more efficient than the 14 SEER equipment used in most homes built today.

An ENERGY STAR certified heat pump is used to heat your home. Heat pumps extract heat from the air, the ground, or a source of water outdoors and transfer it to the indoor air. In the winter months, a heat pump can save you about 50% on the heating portion of your electric bill.

In addition to using less energy to operate, energy-efficient heating & cooling systems can be quieter, reduce indoor humidity, and improve the overall comfort of your home.

Lighting

No more replacing burned-out bulbs. At The Luxe at Mercer Crossing, we use 100% LED lighting, which uses 80% less energy than incandescent bulbs and produces less heat, leading to less energy consumption for your air conditioning system.

Appliances

Your home is equipped with both an ENERGY STAR certified refrigerator and dishwasher. These dishwashers and refrigerators are about 9% more efficient than standard dishwashers and refrigerators, saving you enough money to pay for detergent all year — while saving about 3,900 gallons of water over the lifetime of the dishwasher and enough money to pay for a small refrigerator of food.

Additional Efficiency Features

ENERGY STAR certified homes also include features such as energy-efficient lighting fixtures, ventilation fans, and appliances.

COMMUNITY & ENVIRONMENT

With landscaped spaces, direct access to the Trinity Trail System, and nearby parks, lakes and greenbelts, The Towers at Mercer Crossing makes it easy to experience the beauty of nature, while living in the city. At W3, we know you care about your neighborhood and the environment, and we are committed to building sustainable communities.

We seamlessly integrate forward-thinking, eco-conscious design and scenic beauty into every community we build, selecting locations with a strong connection to nature and designing our properties to leave a small footprint while creating moments that inspire.

Lush green landscapes look inviting—and because they are irrigated with water-conserving systems and professionally designed with native plantings, they are also eco-friendly. Energy-conserving features like weather stripping, radiant barrier roof decking, dual-pane windows and programmable thermostats ensure your home feels comfortable, while keeping energy costs and usage down. And while our lighting and décor looks elegant, it is also responsible, featuring low VOC paints and efficient CFL and LED light bulbs.

Our residents care about the impact they have on the local environment and around the world, and so do we. After all, living the best life is also about doing the right thing.
